Our Historical Society was created for the purpose of collecting, preserving and exhibiting the history, cultural and civic accomplishments of Culver City and its environs.
For over 25 years, the Culver CIty Historical Society has accumulated, protected, and preserved valuable artifacts and memorabilia that tell fascinating stories about the native indigenous Californians, the early Spanish settlers, city founder Harry Culver, the City of Culver City, and the movie industry which has been an integral part of the History of Culver City.
We use today’s media to further that mission — with photos and forgotten or little-known stories posted on social media, with videos on historic events and people, and stories that illustrate the colorful and engaging aspects of our history.
Our museum exhibits many fascinating physical artifacts and documents that bring the past to life, illustrate the remarkable contrasts between “then” and “now” and offer an informed perspective on Culver City today.
