Dear Friends,

May promises to be a truly exciting and busy month for the Historical Society, beginning:

May 8, Tournament of Roses Association; Luncheon, $12.50 ea. ($8.50 for Seniors over 60).
May 11, “FIESTA LA BALLONA” All day in Veteran’s Park starting with a 10k Run and Pancake Breakfast at 8:00am, the Kiddie Parade at 10:00 (chaired by members, Bonnie Walsh and DeeDee Orr) this is really special fun.

We will be staffing a “Display Booth”, call Jo Ellen to sign up for your shift. Thanks to Clarity for all the “good stuff” to decorate with.

The traditional City Bus Tours begin at 11:00 and end at 4:00…this is very educational even to old-time Culverites, docents – Julie, Rusty and Marti.

May 12-18, “Main Street Preservation Week” – We will be doing rubbings—sign up at the Fiesta Booth.

May 13-17, Channel 7 News at 4:00…one day Charlie Lugo will be interviewed, “A Star is Born”.

May 21, Luncheon & Fashion Show at the May Company Pavilion, a co-venture with the Culver City Guidance Guild and Culver Exchangettes…the lunch is free…reservations are limited, call Julie by May 17th. But, the Raffle Tickets for the beautiful Money Hat (made by Clarita) are not limited. You can buy yours for $1.00 donation/each or be a big spender and buy a book for $10.00. All proceeds go towards the Museum Fund.

You can get your ticket(s) at, where else…the Fiesta Booth of course!! Or, call Rusty 559-0177.

May 21, 7:00p.m. – Joint meeting with the Santa Monica Historical Society (see info above).

See you everywhere!
