Cali Rose pays tribute to Culver City

Cali Rose - Culver City Historical SocietyThe entertainment at last night’s General Program Meeting was a wonderful musical tribute to the “Heart of Screenland,” energetically performed by special guest, multi-talented singer/songwriter (and Culver City resident), Cali Rose.

Toes were certainly tapping throughout the performance, and many joined in a general sing-along!

Whether at her keyboard or on her ukulele, Cali performed several of her own compositions in addition to giving a wonderfully entertaining musical salute to various songs connected to Culver City, including “If I Only Had A Brain” from The Wizard of Oz and Cole Porter’s beautiful “True Love” from High Society.

In addition to music, Cali playfully reminisced, asking “challenging” questions of the audience as to their memories of the “Heart of Screenland.”
